Alternatives to Frotcom for your company fleet
The right alternative to Frotcom depends on what you are looking for: GPS tracking again, or just fleet administration. Each case calls for a different product category.
Short answer
- If you still need GPS tracking and tachograph data, the alternative is another GPS platform, for example CargoTrack.
- If your problem is administrative (papers, servicing, costs, trip sheets), the alternative is fleet administration software without GPS, such as 4fleet.
- For a very small fleet, the minimal alternative is records in Excel, with its limits.
- The two categories can be used together: GPS for tracking, administration software for the rest.

Where Frotcom is better
- It downloads the tachograph remotely and immobilises the vehicle remotely.
Where CargoTrack is better
- It offers automatic payment of road tolls, the IMI declaration and recovery of foreign VAT.
When an alternative makes sense
- The price is not shown: the Frotcom offer is on request, so comparing providers takes time.
- They do not need GPS: they run car fleets where papers, servicing and costs matter.
- They do not want equipment fitted in every vehicle.
How to choose
- Write the main problem in one sentence: where are the vehicles, or which papers, costs and servicing must I track.
- If the answer is “where are they”, compare GPS platforms by equipment, tachograph and offer.
- If the answer is “what do I track”, compare administration software by alerts, servicing, costs and displayed price.
- If you need both, take one product for each and do not look for one that does everything.
How 4fleet helps
- Each vehicle's documents, with in-app alerts before expiry.
- Servicing, fuel fill-ups (litres, cost, km), trip sheets and cost per kilometre.
- It does not replace a GPS system: it has no tracking and does not read the tachograph.
